The little hamlet of La grange Vieille is located at 5 km of Arnac-
Pompadour. Arnac-Pompadour is known because of the chateau the
Pompadour, a gift of Louis XV to Madame de Pompadour, his mistress
This is also the place of the national stud farm, the 'Harras National'.
Every summer there are festivities concerning the horse.
Fun to do are the eating markets which take place in July and August
in surrounding villages.
Close by you can find medieval towns such as Uzerche with it's
picturesque centre or Segur le Chateau , where the first counts of Limoges
were born.
A little further away are the caves of Lascaux and beautiful little towns such
as Collonges-la-Rouge and Rocamadour, a famous stop-over in the middle
ages on the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela.
Major shopping cities in the area are Brive la Gaillarde, Périgueux and
Limoges, famous for its porcelain.
The area, richly forested and counting many hills, lends itself to be dis-
covered by bike. You'll find sporting facilities at the different lakes in
the neighbourhood, the largest of which is Lac the Vassivière (70 km).
Nearest swimming lake is at 10 km. At about 15 km you will find the
gorges the Vézère.

you'll find yourself walking in the

small lake where you can fish for
